On Easter I had a sense of the passing of time. As my dad sat in his own grandfather’s rocking chair, and my mom kept up with most of the conversation through unreliable hearing aids. As my daughter talked up her new venture into community gardening and the current family dog ran about under foot, I felt the impermanence of the day.
We lost an American treasure when Beverly Cleary died yesterday. She started her career as a librarian, and began writing books because little boys would come in and complain that they had nothing to read.
Last night I got to visit with the Stratford Place book club about my first book, Lottie’s Gift. True to form I took just one picture, of this lovely spread of homemade goodies, and forgot all about my camera once the discussion started.
Fancy breakfast this morning! Healthy Carrot Cake Muffins from @gimmesomeoven made this cloudy day a little brighter. Carrots, walnuts, oats—What’s not to love? And they said this low cholesterol diet would be boring.
Saturday coffee date at @summermoonkc. Tried it, liked it!
Clone account alert! There’s a new account posing as me and following my friends. See the “1” at the end of my name on the top line? That’s not my address. Please don’t follow it! If it follows you, please take a minute to report it. Thank you!
